i received my walbro 340 pump and hotwire kit the other day. love the quality of the pieces btw:) anyway my questions are:

1) how hard is the pump to put in? is it one of those DIY jobs to save $$$ or is a mechanics expertise needed.

2) the hotwire kit has a the alternator hookup and about 6 inches down that wire is a fused relay. on the other end is a relay type thing, a chassis ground, another wire from the chassis ground that has a flat metal tab on it, and a 3 wire connector thing. please help me fgure out where all these wires go. some are labeled but the others im confused on.

thanks:)

Hey its easy to put it in took me 4 hours to do it but i have never done. it shouldnt take longer then 2 hours now. Save your money and do it your self. if u bought the race tronics its all plug and play not cutting! Just use up or pump out as much fuel as possable. remove the bolts on the front of the tank then just follow the steps one by one on the install sheet, unless your related to tim :D. Good luck!!

thanks i did get the racetronix kit:) will i have to lift my hood to take out the fuse to protect my car from theft or is the relay mounted in the cabin or in the trunk?

the relay (the square black box) goes by the tank and the fuse goes under the hood. u can remove the fuse but it may still start. i would get a chip with theft protection.

i got the racetronix kit which also has the body ground upgrade. but where does this wire go? also what is the redundant tank ground upgrade and where does it go? thanks:)

not sure about the tank one the only one i remember is the one that was with the relay and i put that on the bolt at the back of the tank i just clean off the rust. The other i put it on the neg from the batt to the fender i dont know if that was right but it sure did seam like it lol.

thanks jack:)

instructions look very helpfull.

exactly what i need:)

one more question, above the male electrical connection tabs on the fuel pump itself they are two 2 round, metal thingies with a + and a - on either side. what are these? are they also electrical hookups? i thought the only electrical hookups were the connection tabs below the round, metal thingies.

p.s. on the 2 wire electical connector i can see where it meets up to the fuel pump but where does the other (male) end connect to?

thank you:)

Those metal things that look like rivets are part of the motors power connection / assembly inside the pump.
The one off to the side is to hold the pressure relief spring.
None of these items are meant to be touched.
