If I disconnect my fuel line above the rear housing and put line it bucket. How much fuel per minute should I see? Is this the prefered way to check? Thanks

I know you know this ..........

It depends on the pump and pressure ..... From what I remember, the acceptable flow is just under a minute/gal.
With the walbro, I ended up at around 52 seconds, but, this was off the shreader (I was lazy  )
From the return line of the regulator, it will still be under 1 min/gal, but should be around the 55-58 second range.

I would check the flow ratings for your pump and test it like that but crank the regulator up to you max operating fuel pressure.

Edit: I assumed you were talking about the return line. Also, you could just disconnect the return line from the rail and hook up a temp line into a bucket and then do the test. That would give you the ability to use the regulator and watch the gauge. It would also eliminate the return line from the equation.
