OK, here's the deal. My old fuel pump is laboring to keep up with mid 20's for boost so changing it out. Got a pump from Kirban back in 1996 or so along with a hot wire kit. From what people say it was probably a Walbro 307. I was a mere rookie back then so not even sure.

Got a Racetronix Walbro 340 going in that I got from TurboTweak. At the same time I figured what the hell and going to change out EVERYTHING while I am at it. New tank, new sending unit and a better hot wire kit than what I was using.

So now on to my question. I know it is suggested to cut off the reduced area of the supply line that would normally connect to the pulsator which obviously is not used with an aftermarket pump but does that really make sense? Looking at the outlet of the pump, what is the big deal of the fuel traveling another 3" to the reduced tube size? Thoughts????

By the way, got the tank from Rock Automotive and YES, it DOES have the correct baffles in there! Just got done putting the 2nd coat of semi-gloss black POR-15 on it. It is the Spectra tank 307C made in Canada.

IMO...the fuel is pumped out of the pump and...boom...right there is a reduced line are you mention..... In a nutsheel one less restriction in the system.

Be sure to use fuel-injection rated hose to connect them together and use double clamps in each end.

Mark, if I knew you were looking for a tank and pump assembly, I would've offered you my GN's original tank (8,000 kilometers only, so still new), complete with dual in-tank hanger and pumps plus wiring harness and a relay which turns on the second pump at whatever boost setting you choose... Right now, the whole setup is for sale at Jack Cotton's shop...Someone here interested?

Claude.
