Fuel pump help

Hey, I just upgraded to the 86 to 87 ecm and when i started the car the fuel pump sounded louder than usual. I checked the fp and it looks fine didnt get a chance to take it for a ride to check it at wot yet but it increases when you rev it at idle as usual and also i just installed a new tps sensor set it at .42 at idle and its at 4.7 at wot. The old tps had a dead spot so i had to make the car idle higher than usual and i dont know if its just the fact that its back down to 800 rpm again that i can hear it and my mind is messing with me but i dont really remember it being this loud. what can it be ???? How much gas do you have in the tank?

According to your gage?
Pumps do go bad fomr time to time but I remember mine getting lound when it was getting low on gas, hence my thinking.

I will give you a thought or two. The stock fuel gauge from my 85 is worthless and I have to rely on my trip odo. Maybe you have the same problem. Brad

The fp is fine a wide open throttle and today the pump sounded a little quieter but still loud got full tank of gas now. I guess all i can do is wait a while to see what happens, its a new walboro xp pump with a caspers hotwire so i hope it didnt go bad this quick. As far as the guage goes i know what you mean i had that problem before but it is all new and working right. Thanks for everyones help.
