After a few dismal 16 second runs, sputtering and popping all the way, I realized it's time for a new fuel pump and wiring upgrade. So far, I've ordered A hotwire kit from racetronix. Any feedback on it? anyway, I'm running a near stock 87 gn, with a thrasher 92 chip, a stock appearing adjustable regulator, adjustable waste gate, a k+N and a hooker cat back system. My question is this, Walbro 307 or 340? Will the 307 put out enough to get me into the low 12's later on if i want, or should i go with the 340 right away? or will a 340 be overkill with my present combo?

Thanks, everybody.

The 307 will be fine,,,, also, I don't think there's thaaaat much difference between the 2.
16 seconds huh,,, good runs.
Not. ;)
Just kidding. Do you still have the original stock valve springs?

Just my .02

For the very small difference in price, why not go with the 340? Better to have more capabillity than not enough!

The racetronix harness is a great piece! Very easy to install.

Yes, the valvetrain is still all stock. Is that bad? Also, would my stock-appearing bosch regulator be able to hold the pressure of the 340? low 12's is about all i want.

i third what tow man said, its only like a $10-15 difference, go for the 340 cause ya never know what mods you might do next :D

as for Jack's(Racetronix) wiring kit, top notch. I love it. He wasn't kidding when he said total "plug-n-play"

its worth the $

As already suggested, you might as well go for the 340. Buy once and be done with it. I took a Walbro 242 FP (190 lph pump) down to 11.38 so if you do decide to go with the 307 I wouldn't be at all worried about it. It is a 255 lph pump same as the 340 and it only starts to drop off above 70psi whereas the 340 stays strong until 80+ psi.

As if there hasn't been enough responses already, I'll also give my thumbs up to what's been said. I've put the 340 in both my Buicks, and also have purchased the Racetronix kit for the GN I'm currently building. I was amazed at the kit and the price! First class work and ease of installation. As others mentioned, the 307 will take you where you want to go, but I would still invest the extra $10 and get the 340 and be done with it. It's the best in-tank pump you can currenly purchase, IMO. (besides, we always set a goal, but once achieved, we always want more. Speed is addictive!!!) Your modified regulator should work fine too, (mine did), but worst case scenario,,, you have to spend $99 for a nice billet replacement later on.
