So my problem turned out to be that I replaced the wrong relay. Stupid Autozone had the part number for the fuel pump relay and ac relay backwards. I replaced the ac relay. Once I figured that out, I swapped the correct one and was home free.

Which pigtail color is the fuel pump relay? The black one or the grey one?

Good lord that can get hella expensive quick. Worst case scenario you could just run a hot lead to a switch and then run a another hot lead to the hanger side of the pump harness. You would be able to start and drive it at least until you figure shit out.

I thought #2 was a compressor relay. Anyway, I swapped the wrong one. Also, I may have had them on the fender in backwards order after reassembling my car.

ok I think I see the problem. the prior owner switched the locations of the compressor and pump relay around. I was giving my attention to the relay with the black pigtail. so I guess I was also sold the wrong relay by autozone. so I picked up the correct relay and I can hear it click on a few seconds after I turn the key. so now that that's out of the way I was able to dig deeper.. the stock power to my pump (the red wire) only has 8.7v standing voltage when the key is in the on position. so I am going to assume that there is a ton of unwanted resistance in that wire. so I will need to install a hotwire kit to power that walbro pump huh?

Same problem here too, but it's the relay for a hotwire kit someone installed. Guess I'll throw a spare relay in the glovebox for when it finally dies.
