Fuel Pump Wiring

I bought a Walbro 255 Lph fuel pump for my 87 GN and could not find the instructions to install. Anyway my question is the old wire's are gray & black with the black wire going to resistor on the float. The new pump has black& red wire's. When the pump's face the same direction the black wire's are on opposite side's. Just don't want to hook up backward's. Please advise. Thank's Hal

The pink wire on the harness is for the fuel level sender unit (fuel gage). And the gray wire is your hot wire to the pump. Don't forget to modify your pick up tube to get rid of the restriction. There is a link for that here How to install an intank fuel pump. - TurboBuicks.com
