fuel pump

I plan on upgrading my fuel pump. I'm looking at a Walbro 307 and 340. I dont have or plan on doing any major mods. Which pump would be the best? What's the difference? My mods are Hooker exh, RA93 chip, Adj FP, 9" cone, and 160 therm. Any help is appreciated.

Either will suit you fine. The 340 has a higher flow and pressure capability. The 307 should be good to mid-11's (450hp) with proper voltage.

I would just do the 340 and be done with it. I have both the 307 and 340 on the cars. I think they are about the same price. I got a good deal on the 340 and liked the hotwire kit from Racetronix. And I said I did not want to do too many mods a couple years ago .

Thanks for the opinions. I just have to make up my mind. I've also seen pump kits for sale in Kirban and Poston books but they dont say what kind of pumps they are. Do either of you know anything about them?

What Tim said. You will not find a cleaner install than Racetronix's kit. Very easy to install.

YEP! I third that opinion. Racetronix gives you everything you need in one box. If your going through the trouble of upgrading, just get the Walbro 340 and hot wire kit. At least if you decide to do more mods, you won't be questioning the pump.

Better to spend a few extra bucks now than have to do it all over again later.

The install was a piece of cake! The worst part was siphoning out a full tank of gas

Email me if you want some tips on dropping the tank and running the hotwire. After doing a couple with the help of TR friends, I have learned a few tricks to make the job a bit easier, and it varies a little from the gnttype instuctions. Tim

BTW, when you install it, pitch the old pulsator. The instructions that came with my 307 said to keep it, but it would not fit. So I was thinking ???? A few calls and I removed it. Everyone pitches them.
