? about inners of fuel pump. I'm going to replace my pump now because I have one and I think the one in there now is bad.

Driving car 25 mph. Car stalls will not restart. Hood mounted pressure gage now reads 13 lbs. Before stalling read 40 lbs. Let car sit for a couple minnutes. Try restart engine kicks over for a short burst. Fuel pressure now at 0. Turn the key on you can hear the pump prime for a couple seconds, but fuel pressure stays at 0

? is -- can the pump make noise in the tank yet not pump gas. And if it can has anyone experienced a failure this way. Thanks

P.s. just curious.

If its the stock pump, the strainer sock can get clogged and collapse, resulting in zero pressure.

The pump may not be your complete proble ( the FP regulator may be acting up), but if you have any question about your pumps abilities, replace it.

Might be the pulsator leaking.Get a 340 with the hotwire kit, dump the pulsator for a piece of fuel hose, and be done with it.Also change the fuel filter while you're at it.:)

Yea I'm going to change it. Just looking for a little insight. Just thought if the pump was bad you would'nt hear it prime. I don,t now how the inner workings of the pump funtion. Thanks guys, another scenerio for future trouble shooting.

You might want to check the computer plug(s). Computer is located behind passengers kick panel. There is one pin that is for fuel pump priming when you first turn the key on.

Since the plugs face up on the computer, any water leaking onto the computer module, especially if its a T-Top, can puddle inside the connector and corrode the plug and pin.

You can clean the plug and pins with some contact cleaner, you might want to apply a small amount od dielectric grease to the pins too.
