I have swapped my digital dash for an analog dash. Haven't gotten to the stage of checking everything, but I am curious to know if I must swap my fuel sending unit as well. Or, since I will be changing my instrument pod, can I simply purchase a gauge for the digital sending unit?

Thanks for your advice,
DGC

I think the digital sending units are higher resistance like 110 or 120 ohms vs. 90 ohms for an analog dash.

Be careful with the swap...the black connector pinouts are completely different on the digital cars vs. analog cars. Also, there is no tach signal on the digital dash, so you will need to pull a wire from the green connector behind the alternator to the tach signal input for the tach/boost to work properly. In fact, you need to add that connector altogether since it's not on the digital dash harness. Always, the best way to swap digital with analog (or vice-versa) is to swap the entire dash harness.

The sending units will become accurate towards the bottom of the tank: Digital dash sender is 120 ohms full, zero ohms empty, analog sender is 90 ohms full, zero ohms empty.

John,
Thanks for the reply. I swapped the entire dash assembly, including wire harness inside the passenger compartment. Are you saying that the wiring forward of the black connector at the driver's side firewall should be swapped as well? I'll add the tach/boost wire as you suggest. The manual indicates an analog/digital prefernce for the boost relay on the passenger fender. Should this be swapped as well? I'll leave my digital fuel sending unit so my tank will never indicate full.
Thanks,
DGC
