fuel sending unit?!?!?

anybody have any ideas if a fuel sending unit interchanges with a tr unit....i priced one from the local gm parts dept, and they're wanting $236.00 for it...i can get one through the napa where i work, but its goin to be a looong time b4 i can get it....just wondering if there were any cars that had the same unit in their gas tank.......thanks

I bought a used, but good, unit from Jack Cotton (Cotton's Performance in MA) a while back. Don't remember the exact price, but it was a lot less than the factory price-- I DO remember cringing when I saw what GM wanted.

Maybe he or other vendors have some hanging around that are in good condition.

Can't help on whether other cars used the same unit.

I bought one looks like the original, haven't installed it yet but will this week..
