Fueling questions

OK just got a fuel pressure gauge. I was getting about 46 lbs with the line off and my scanmaster was reading 90-100 blm everything else was right on. So I lowered it to 43 lbs my blms stayed the same butcar felt faster. So i thought i would lower again to 41 lbs now my blms are at 100-110 and the car felt great should I lower it to 39 lbs to see if i get my blms at idle in the 118-138 range. When I hit wot the blms and int stay pegged at 128. o2 for the last run was 876 no knock @20lbs of boost on pump gas.

Id lower the fuel pressure more. Your BLMs are locked at WOT so lowering the fuel pressure should bring things a little more inline and not have a terrible impact on WOT fueling.

Thanks JayC just lowered the fuel to 39 lbs and the car feels like a monster my blms are still in the 100-115 range though. But the car runs with no hesitation Before @46lbs of fuel it would bogg down like a cow. o2's are in the lower 800's what do you think I should do. Keep it there or lower another 2 lbs of fuel bringing it to 37 lbs with the line off?

Youre going to need to keep it a little rich for the street. Play around with the fuel pressure though if you feel inclined. A couple of pounds isnt going to hurt anything.

Just stay away from that fool that told you to use that other regulator and you will be fine

OK Jay went to lean with 37 and too rich with 39 almost 40 so Im going to try 38 almost 39 see if that removes that hesitation. Blackbuick funny that you should ask that. I took the car to the tranny place and they took out the tcc solenoid and showed me that it was getting stuck open time to time because of the mildew(yeah thats what I said) but they showed me the pan and sure enough there was mildew so they cleaned it and reinstalled. I took the owner of the tranny shop he knows his stuff and the same thing happened. He said it was the torque converter and the engine not getting enough fuel. So i installed a new fuel pump and filter and adjustable regulator and fixed the fueling problem. Now When I stepp on from 45 or so it down shifts pulls like crazy but doesnt want to shift! It doesnt do it all the time but its there and it happens alot

my blms are around 138-146 at WOT.What should I do with the fp?richen or lean it.I currently have it set at 46psi and my o2s have been around 760-820 at wot.I get a little knock in third ,some days better or worse than others.I don't think I have any leakes on the downpipe or x-over.Don't hear any vacuum leaks.How can I test to see if injectors are leaking?

Usually if the fuel pressure is over 128 (guys correct me if I'm wrong) the computer is adding fuel inorder to correct a lean problem. If you are running the stock injectors one might be leaning out. Or you could raise the fuel pressure but if its leaning out you could cause serious damage.

Jim, I think your high blms mean its lean. If your losing your pressure quickly, check your inj or fuel reg to make sure its seated correctly. That cool air is great, but you will need more fuel, or octane. 46 psi is high, I think its Kenne Bells timing doing this.
So you thinking about a Ford PS intercooler? Its some job but worth it, I hope!
