I have been having my car worked on by another TB user known as Larry for the past couple of months. Recently we discovered that the motor really needs to be rebuilt, so going under his recommendation we removed the motor and sent the block to the machine shop and ordered all of the parts from Full Throttle on 12/19/07. Larry and I heard great things about this vendor and Larry had dealt with them in the past and had great things to say as well. So the order was placed for over $2,500 in parts ( a lot of money to me at least) on the 19th and the block was sitting at the machine shop. Needless to say after getting a little bit of the runaround with why it wasn't invoiced and shipped until the 27th and then finding out that when 3/4 of the order arrived at Larry's today, that they still hadn't shipped some of the parts. We finally got a hold of the person at Full throttle and found out they just sent out the remaining parts GROUND today. I'm telling you if I messed up, I would have overnighted it, because I have a block sitting in the machine shop for 3 weeks, and now will probably be put on his backburner, and obviously that's my problem and not anyone elses.

Now I'm writing this post because it really annoys me that this is so commonplace nowadays. I'm new to the TB community and I can tell you I have a bad taste in my mouth already.

However,

I'm looking to the owners of Full Throttle to give them an oportunity to make it right.

Please reach out to Larry or myself and let us know how I/we can get these parts ASAP.

Giving you a chance to make it right.....

good luck with that, making things right hardly ever happens

i feel for you, i hope it gets straightened out with some class and manors, before it turns out ugly

I can honestly tell you, Mike and the gang at Full Throttle ship promptly and this is not the norm nor is it commonplace. Keep in mind this went on durnig the holiday season where shippers (DHL UPS FEDEX etc) were overwhelmed. UPS didnt show up for 3 scheduled pick-ups at our shop and when they finally did, the driver explained that he simply could not get there due to the long hours he was already working. I'm not making excuses for them but there may be some other things to consider that affected your shipment.

I can appreciate the Holidays, however sending out the parts today after they told us today that the parts would be here today and sending it Ground is really unacceptable.

Also, giving Larry a call, letting him know the situation, an update might be the way to go.

We all are held accountable in all of our positions, and we all essentially have customers in our jobs. I'm held to the same standard that I'm asking them to be held to.

I'm just looking for a resolution here.

Thanks for everyone's input and comments thus far.

Lets give Mike a chance to respond or get this straight with the customer before we "guess" at anything...

I just got stuff today that I ordered 3 weeks ago for my wife from a catalog that she likes. I ordered on the same day from a differnent place and got that item in 4 days. Both went out of the vendor the same day...

Sure but since we're a pretty tight community here on TB, I was expecting a little more, if not at the minimum better communication. Not too mention, you'd think a substantial order like this one might get a little more hand-holding and better overall customer service, communication (as mentioned above) and at least overnight or 2nd day shipping when the parts should have been delivered, weren't even sent out.

No offense because I feel your pain but I have been trying to build my motor for a year and a half now and finally got things going today!!!!!! I have bounced around here and there and just couldnt get anybody to step up to the plate and get me what I needed. Finally, got ahold of Mike a couple weeks ago, talked with him today, and the parts will be ordered tomorrow. Should be done in 10 days! I have to say that Mike has stepped up to the plate when others didnt. People are busy in the TB world because there are not many builders/vendors around. I am certainly not bashing anyone here, but for my particular situation, Mike has helped out! Honestly, be thankful you got your parts as soon as you did!! I wish I only had to wait that short of a time to get my parts! you have to remember, we dont drive Mustangs and Camaros so we cant just go to the parts store and order a cam, heads, intake, etc.

I feel your pain about having a sour taste about a transaction with a Buick vendor but please believe Full Throttle is one of the best and your delays are certainly not "normal" for them. There are some Buick vendors that I simply refuse to deal with at this point, some vendors that I only use if I can't find a part anywhere else except from them, and one or two vendors that I will use no questions asked, and Full Throttle is one of the best.

As already stated, it's nobody's place to "guess" or "assume" what happened with your parts or why they handled it in the manner that they did, as soon as they see this post someone will give you the answers you are looking for.

As a side note I had a package from them scheduled to be delivered today, got disappointed after work when I find out it isn't here yet, check the UPS tracking number and they delayed it one day, so it is common that the shipping company causes more of a delay than the vendor.

yes i agree . we are doing the work for (nick386) and the holiday does come in to play but when u are told on the 19th that your order will be leaving today it means today not a week later. i know that things happen but when u call to find out what is going on and they say that they will call u back! u call them back 1/2 hr later and she went home. no call just e-mail still not sending out all the parts. come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! friend bought a rollor cam kit they said was in stock and that took 5weeks ! but i guess that if they have it all. they can treat u the way they please.

I know it sucks waiting for parts but FTS doesnt charge until they ship the item...

I tell ya,Mike and Marianne have gone above and beyond for me a couple of times.

Things are hectic at Xmas time!!!

Just a bad time to order and a bad time to ship, I sold a few things on here 2 weeks ago and shiped on the 21st after standing in line for an hr and one guy just got his part today.

You get the holiday rush then the after holiday rush to return all the crap they didnt want. plus everything fell on a Tuesday which meant 4 day weekends for most.

Honestly i dont even think an overnight would have helped..if theres no room on the plane, theres no room. we must remember how much online buying is done these days and how many procrastinate (um me) untill the last minute.

You spent alot of money and id be willing to bet Mike had 40k in parts go out in the last couple weeks.. hard to keep up sometimes and its hard to take a deep breath when your chomping at the bit to get it put together and say Its Alive!

At least they didn't charge you until parts were going. They are at the mercy of their vendors too. This is also a rare occurance with them. They had a major sale going on and believe me as a business owner, it's nuts during the holidays.

At least you didn't get burned like this ebay transaction I have. Still nothing after 2 months! They've been paid... And then they give me negative feedback because they can't deliver?

The description writeup on that crank would be enough to scare me away.
