I've bought a lot of stuff over the years from all of the vendors. I've had a couple of transactions that didn't go the way I'd hoped or expected. However, I have never seen fit to go on the boards and criticize any vendor. Even if I'm not happy, it just can do too much damage to the vendor. Doesn't seem fair to me. I always try to straighten things out with the vendor and it usually gets straightened out to my satisfaction.
I will add that I have always had excellent experiences buying from Mike Licht. In my opinion he is the best. I would never expect Mike to take a loss on a sale because of an oversite on his website.

Well said Chris.

sorry guys, not trying to start a war on here, and dont want to see anybody get in trouble. should have just kept it to myself.

No, don't feel bad! This is what the section is for!

My problem is when others jump in to try turn it into a pissing macth....

I do not want anyone to feel shy about posting, that is what the board is for!!!!!!

I usually stay out of these threads but I am going to put my .02 in here. "I" personally don't have much use for Mike, BUT as stated this is a small tight niche community & it sounds like there was a mistake on his website. as soon as you noticed a problem you should have called Mike, & asked what is going on? as you posted you have had good service in the past.
a little story on 1-12-10 I placed an order with a co. for a set of wheels. I was told that since I was in a bit of a hurry to make the race in March, they would push the wheels through in 1 week, well as nothing showed up, I called & they said there cnc machine had issues. OK well yesterday no wheels showed up, am I pissed? yes. I called & she told me of more issues they had & gave me her word I would have them by Friday. I was hard on her on the phone yesterday & told her NOT to worry, that I would NOT be going on the web bashing them as long as she made good on her promise.

doesnt seem fair for the vendor? whats fair for the customer that keeps the vendor in business? I told them if they did not want to honor their sale, I would just buy from Julio, she said "thats fine". there was nothing to straighten out.

The real issue is the thread starter is PO'ed because he feels he should get it for what the site says. He's out no $$ and he moved on. Mike owns his own business which gives him the right to do whatever he wants whether we like it or not. Problem is some think because of the way Walmart does business, then Mike or others should too. I guess Mike decided he didn't want to lose $$, but that makes him a bad guy?? All the vendors are struggling in a tough market and to think he should lose $$ is just retarded. I'm sure Mike thought about this before he made his decision, and if you have bills to pay and a family to take care of, it sure wouldn't be hard for me to make the call either.

In the end the buyer got what he wanted and the seller updated his pricing. Lets be real, can you imagine how hard it is to maintain a website and also deal with all the things life throws at us all day??

I understand your anger. What I'm saying is that a vendor can offered excellent service for many years and one unhappy customer with one bad experience can really hurt a long established reputation. I would not have gone on the forums and complained if what you have described happen to me. I would simply chalk it up to a bad experience. Then again, as I have said, I have had very good experiences with FullThrottle for a long time. I'm not bashing you or saying you did a wrong thing. I'm only saying how I would have reacted.

Speaking of WalMart price mistakes: few years ago I was in the market for a Magnavox 27" TV. Ten stores I went to listed this certain model for $499. The last store I went to that evening was WalMart, looking for this certain Magnavox. There it was sitting on the showroom floor for $239!!!! I double checked to see if it was the $499 TV...it was. I called the manager over and asked it he will sell me this TV for $239..He said yes. I pulled out a piece of paper, writing down this manager's name and stated he would sell me this TV for $239 and he signed it. I went home, got my Jeep, came back and bought it for $239. When I came back he said it was a mistake by one of his employees, it was supposed to be for $489, but since the sign said $239, he'll sell it at that price. Wow. And to top it off....I dropped the damn thing hauling it out to my Jeep, even thought it was in a box...I asked the manager if he would exchange it for me on the spot since I dropped it and don't know if I damaged it or not....he said...no problem....brought me out a new Magnavox just like it. This happened in 1995 and I STILL HAVE IT. IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!!! It's in our bedroom. It works too good, as I wish I could get a flat screen but why replace a perfectly good TV? My point is, I bought a great TV for half price due to a mistake, and the manager did not give me any crap at all over this. First time for me. Well, anyway, Full Throttle is tops with me, never a problem with them, they are top notch. I will always buy from them. Very, very efficient folks. Mike and his wife, you're terrific. Love my scanmaster. Thanks for the sale price on it!!

I do not doubt your account. I do not doubt that ALL Wal-Mart customers pay a higher price for goods as a result of those policies. They make it up with volume. Buick vendors cannot make it up with volume. :)

Maybe in good faith, Mike could have explained the error and sold the item at cost to meet the guy half way.

I have disclaimers on my sites for this exact reason, I price and adjust prices on thousands of items annually....make one little mistake and there's always somebody wanting to take advantage while 99.9% of everyone else totally understands.

That said, I'll be ordering a few things this weekend from FT.
