87 GN, 58K, stock everything.

Jus installed fuel gauge on fuel rail to attempt to find my intermittant 'dead car' problem.

When car is jus started, fuel pressure (with stock regulator), is 40 w.o vacuum to regulator attached and 38 WITH vacuum attached. I drove for about 2 hours and checked under the hood. Pressure w.o regulator = 40 but WITH it the pressure dropped to 28!!! Is this normal? Maybe this is why the car sometimes dies for no apparent reason!?!

Thanks again, guys!

I'll second that. Even if you plan on keeping the car "stock" there are some things that just need to be done. Fuel system being the most crucial. Get yourself a 340 Walbro pump, hot wire it, and get the adjustable regulator.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I've already replaced the fuel filter / installed a walbro 307 to narrow down possibilities.

I'll get that adjustable regulator next few days ....

Thx again
