fuseable link question

What is the reason for 2 fuseable links on the the same lead? I just noticed this as i'm moving the fuseable links up off the starter. I have 5 or 6 leads like this. I have a new set of links to install and was wondering if i need the 2nd set ?Any help is appreciated.

GM had paired feeders up with a single fuse link, two such pairs, on the 86-87 engine harness. This type of design is economical for the factory to produce the wiring, but in certain situations, it overloads the link. It's best to put a single link onto each 12 gage feeder, rather than share the link.

There is no downside to installing individual links for individual feeders.

Thanks for the response John. i bought a new set of links and the reloaction kit from you. I m much happpier with that setup, and every thing works great!

I do have another question for you however.

Im wiring in a battery cut off switch (still). I have your print s on how to do this , but on the alternatior i only have one lead going to terminal " L " and thats it? I know you

said to use F . Im kind of stuck at this point.
