G Body $595.00 TE-60 Turbos good deal?

I want to buy a new turbo and have a 2600 stall in the car, not really wanting to change it out before winter, but is this a good deal if you are in the learning stages of the Turbo Ts I have the money to buy a BB turbo but I just want ot get into the low 11s and play for a year to see how these cars treat me. Thanks for any help, as for the good deal is better money spend for the bb turbos or are these older te60 a hard to beat turbo?

You wont be beating that value with anything else. Thats f'in cheap for a new turbo. It will take a lot more than a turbo to run solid low 11's though. You will need to get a better converter or have a Garrett.63 housing machined for the TE60

I do not think that 60 will spool with your converter, I had trouble with a 3000 stall.

What's your build? Also what size 2600 stall you got?

I've gone 11.47 @ 119.96 @ 18 psi with that turbo but that's with heads and cam.

Where did your 3000 stall at 0 boost? A local guy had a 2800 orange stripe that spooled a TA-60 easily.

I tried it out before I was going to buy it, it sucked. I put my 49 back on and ran 11.7. Maybe with the blue tops and chip it was just a bad combo?

I had the 60 work on a re-stalled stock converter. It had the old Garrett .63 housing in it and spooled like a champ.
