Is the standard front anti-sway bar on Cutlass, Regal, Monte Carlo the same as the sport models?

Or is the T-Type, GN, T, 442, Salon, MC SS, all use one slightly bigger? (heavy duty suspension) < I want this one

And how many people have heard of somebody putting a bigger F-Body one on a Regal? < my car has this one

My factory front bar is 1 1/4", or 1.250. The f-body might be hollow, in which case it might be larger in dia, but not necessarily add any handling benefits over the factory one, but would weigh less.
Rear factory bar is 7/8", or .875 for my '87 Turbo-T.

It is hollow and slightly bigger.

I would rather have the correct bar on there.

I just find it odd the F-Body one fits.

I believe that particular hollow front sway bar is only available from certain
F-body models. It is a common sway for G bodies wanting to lighten the front end a little.

what models had that hollow sway bar?
and i'm not really surprised the sway bar fits- with the exception of early Camaros and Novas, a lot of GM midsize and fullsize front sway bars interchange. for example, i will be putting the sway bar out of a 92 Caprice cop car under my 76 Monte Carlo someday, and i think i held it up under the Regal once just for fun, and the mounting points looked pretty close- if not the same. but it is the same size as the Regal bar, so changing it would be kind of pointless.
and i had that same sway bar bolted under a 66 Chevelle once, just to see if it would fit.
it did.

Any G-body that came with 15" wheels as standard equipment will have the biggest bars available. MCSS,442-H/O,T-Type/GN all had standard 15" wheels.

The 3rd gen F-body bar is actually a little to wide between the mounting points to make it true bolt on but you can easily fit one on a G-body.

I'm kind of seeing a new trend starting here. As more information is becoming available about springs and spring rates some of the old school technology is disappearing. At one time everyone followed the bigger is better line of thinking. The trend I see now is let the springs start doing the work and use the sway bar as a tuning tool, hence going back to the smaller stock parts.

I don't know about trends, never followed them, always did my own thing.

I prefer the correct part on the car, or one that was made for it.

I bought the car with some "add-ons" and I'm trying to "un-do" them.

Anyone want to buy a thicker hollow sway bar? It will improve your Regals handleing!
