Considering going turbo 400 and thought I would see what my stock trans is worth before I pull and wonder. Still in my 86 with 50,000 miles on odometer??? Can drive and decide! Will pull and hold with deposit, please let me know if interested.............

Why? Your mods don't warrant it. I know of 2 local 9 second cars and at least 3 10 second cars that run the 200r.

Save that shit.illbe keeping my matching Trans and motor. Buy a core BRF have it built. As said above. The 400 isn't warranted with the power level. Looks to be a low mile 86. I'd hold onto it.

Where is the 200r located?

First you need to post a price, those are the rules and you're not exempt.

Just put a high price then o.b.o behind it.when you want to sell then adjust price.

If you have to ship, fastenal will ship it threw there 3pl program.

Rebuild the 200 for that level in your sig from a reputable builder, to most people and tranny guys the stock unit only holds core value..

I will make you an offer of 400.00 shipped.

All you have to do is drop it off at a fastenal for me.

That is a good offer for a core BRF trans.

Not selling a core, but a good trans capable of in car test for someone who wants turn key rather than send out a core for rebuild & the surprises that always occur.............since I am not exempt, I respectfully decline your offer.

Realistically what do you want for it.since 400 isnt enuff?

He won't post a price, yet he knows what he won't take so he must have a price in mind that he will take.

That can only mean one thing. He's hoping that the offers come in at more than what it's worth. It may be a working trans as he puts it with no issues but unless he is the amazing KRESKIN and can see the internal condition of said trans he has no idea on whether the trans will go another 10 miles or ten thousand.

I love how people try to sell things without posting a price thinking they are selling something that is worth twice what people will pay for it.

I wonder if he realizes that you can have that trans rebuilt for under a grand to stock specs and know what you have instead of buying a 60 thousand mile unit that may be at the end of it's life.

Any trans that is stock with that many miles running or not is a core trans period.

OP, post a price so we can get an idea of what value you have placed on it, and the rest of us can decide if it's worth what you think it is.

You will have a much easier time selling it if you let people know what you want instead of us guessing at the number in your head.

That is also one of the reasons for the rule of posting a price, not taking offers. This isn't FLEABAY where we have to bid on your item for sale.

Well after that spanking.............I better state what I need to make my conversion to 400 possible and cost effective! So I humbly feel $ 950 will do it. Still in car and will stay there until sold...........

Ideally, to make your turbo 400 conversion possible and cost effective would be for someone to pay $3,000 for your stock trans, but as you can see most of us are so tight you couldn't pull a pin out of our a** with a tractor.
I think the term "core" was used is that the ones who need a new trans have already surpassed the capabilities of the stocker and would be looking for a trans built for the mid / low 10's.

I have the 400 trans & input shaft for drive shaft already, I am hoping to just need a converter and light tune on the trans??? I realize the 200 won't cover everything just trying to reduce the pain

That's not exactly true either. To have a 2004R rebuilt to stock specs, not a stage 1 build or whatever some builders name it is less than one thousand dollars.

Most builders lowest price build is better than a factory original build but does cost more than a basic rebuild because they usually do some mods that are above a standard rebuild.

3 grand will get you a full billet unit capable of north of 800 hp.

Stock spec rebuild is less than a grand, hence why a used unit isn't worth what he's asking.
If he gets 900 for his I have four units that I will be selling as fast as possible.
