Does anyone know what cfm a greddy t-78 flows and is it too high rpm for a 86/87 turbo build?

Seems like that turbo is a 70 or 71mm. If it has more than a .82 a/r turbine I'd stay away from it. Of course a lot depends on what your goals are.

We have a customer's '94 Supra (640 RWHP) here now, with a Greedy T76. It has LAG. 0-12 psi feels like you're driving a truck. 15 psi plus - watch out!

Hope this helps you.

A greddy T78 17cm is a 67mm turbo with a 1.0 a/r hotside. It will flow up to 800hp. The T88 18cm is a 70mm turbo and will flow up to 950hp. Good luck.

I used to have a GReddy T78 and really liked it. The lag wasn't THAT bad and when it came on you felt like you were rear ended by a semi truck... LOL...

The T78 was an easy mid 130 mph turbo on a stock long block Supra... Very powerful and fast!!!

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I am really up in the air on how I want to build this car at the moment. Right now I am thinking of going for a 10.8-11.8 sec car and try to keep it docile enough for the street. Notching the rails and rinning a 315mm rear tire, and just restoring the outside. I will be focusing on the body and interior and enjoying it as is for now though.
