Whats the horsepower rating of the GT 3255? and whats the next step up in the GT series turbos?

Horsepower is generally rated at about 520 at the crank with maxed out boost at like nearly 30 psi

the next GT series turbo is the GT35 but we don't offer it to the Buicks...mainly because the PT61 is a better turbo upgrade over the 3255

What would some of the supporting compnents needed for a GT-61 and what are some of its specs?

You will need at least a 3200 converter. Some guys says more. I would think to really take advantage of this turbo, you would want heads and cam. I have seen people upgrade from TA49s to PT61s on stock motors and run about the same. A 44/49 seems like it is hard to beat on a stock motored car without running 27+lbs.

Yea when my father installed the GT3255E we had the same problems. The shield wouldn't fit and we had problems with the boost. It was hitting 30+lbs no matter what. We just installed a check ball in the valve and the boost came down to about 22.

Yea, I know the car has an 11.50 in it. With a 2.19 60FT and 12.58@111 the power is their. Will be going back to look for better times.

Hey Geoff! How's it going??

It was your dad's car (your car!) I was talking about!

I'm glad your dad is feeling better and back in action. :D I need to call him.

Rob

Yea, now the Translator is bad and we are only running base timing of 21 degrees. For 21 degrees, only 24 psi, 2.19 60FT, I know the car is gonna run an 11.50. Yea he's doin pretty good, didn't know you were Rob. :p See ya around.
