Any body that has a Galaxy S4 and want to root it, the go to this link below. It is a bootrom exploit that can not be undone. It has been achieved by the famous GEOHOT. You may know him from being the first to every JAILBREAK the iPhone via bootrom exploit and the SONY PLAYSTATION.

Wasnt the G4 rooted weeks ago? It sounds like you mean the bootloader was unlocked, not that it was rooted.

How odd.. are you on Verizon? They are the only ones in recent memory that have asked Samsung to lock the bootloader. There are TONS of roms out for the Sprint S4 so obviously its been rooted for a while and I remember hearing a few weeks ago there was a custom recovery out for it.

Actually I see he was on ATT. If you look here:

You'll see root and recovery were released in late May. Still cool what Geohot came up with.. havent seen one of those "Visit this site and get jailbroken" since my iPhone days.

I would never own droid phone. I am thinking about going to a Nokia windows phone, once they allow PC apps so I can run my XFI

You really are a glutton for punishment, arent you? :)

The iPhone is a fine device. I just dont like being confined to Apple's sandbox and the development community is important to me. I dont want to have to jailbreak and try to stay a step ahead of Apple.

Stupid question I just got my S4.......what does this mean and do I or should I do something? Is there a benefit? Explain for non tech guy like me.......lol.

Thanks

Jay can explain it better for you since he is a droid guy. One thing I do know is that you can get rid of bloatware.

It allows you to flash new custom modified operating systems. Whether or not thats advantageous to you depends on how you use your phone. A lot of them strip out worthless crap you dont use and add new features, etc.
