Anyone else ever had this problem? After driving, and then parking the car I noticed gas leaking from charcoal canister and leaving a puddle on garage floor. Was happening every time I took the car out. Figuring this wasn't safe I had a mechanic check the fuel system. They changed the fuel pump and no more gas smell or leaking from canister. I'm thinking the bad fuel pump some how put too much pressure in the system when car was off and made the gas back flow to the charcoal canister.

This will happen when the return and vent lines are switched at the tank. The return is down in the fuel while the vent line is at the top of the sender. Although with the lines all being different sizes none should have gotten switched.

Or if the supply line inside the tank has come loose. Gas leaks and shoots at the vent. You can tell because the fuel pressure drops to zero very fast when the pump turns off. I have seen this a few times.

Now that's not one I've thought of. But yes, I can see it happening. With the line either coming loose or even splitting.
