I am having some sealing problems between my 3" TH-style DP and my exhaust housing. I have been using Copper Permatex to attempt to gain a good seal. However, gets kinda flaky over time.
I am going to make a gasket to take the place of the Permatex.
I'll be using .005"-.010" material to create the seal.
Should I use copper or aluminum?
I like the idea of using the aluminum because it is softer than the copper and should take shape easier, and sealing should be simplified.
However, if the aluminum melts... then copper makes more sense.
Please offer your thoughts and experiences.
Thanks,
