GASKET??

i was told by the parts store gm did not make a gasket to go between catalytic converter/test pipe 4 bolt flange ..is this true? if so is there a sealant to use???

when i bought my new cat from GBodyparts, it came with a gasket. graphite I believe.

Maybe you could make one -get creative out of some appropriate material,I know they sell blank sheets for oil pan/valve cover but maybe something more heat resistant is available. How about some cut oven mitts heh heh

I made one out of cork gasket material and it lasted all summer

No, there never was a gasket there. If the surfaces aren't warped you shouldn't need one. You could always use a thin smear of Ultra black/gray/copper RTV if it makes you feel better.

aftermarket though makes a composite and a copper

the test pipe he sells comes with a composite foil graphite , call and he might be able to get one

cool...went to parts store bought gasket paper{BLACK} made gasket came out fine...just need to put system on ;...waiting on scanmaster and knock gauge to come from KIRBANS...that i ordered feb.10th...

I always gutted or replaced them with test pipe or thdp
