My long block will be done soon so it's time to start getting some things going on my end. The long block will be assembled with Earl brown timing cover, cam etc, the rest is up to me.

I will be installing the heads, rockers, manifold, water pump etc.

Any interesting paint or powder coat ideas? I have seen some pretty nice engine bays on this board and just thought if there was something I could do now while the motor is out to help with appearance or functionality I better ask.

Since I have a new water pump and timing chain cover they are not painted but all the original bolts are. Do they make a bolt kit I can buy? Maybe something stainless?

When I disassembled the front of the motor I took pictures so I would have a reference when putting it back together. Somehow all those pictures got deleted so I'm in the dark now. I did keep everything in order on a table but this was 4 months ago.

I have Dave Husek to call during the assembly for advice but I don't want to bother him with things like this since I'm just looking for ideas.

This is how I pulled my intake. Need to install new injectors and maybe paint the upper plenum?

Earl sells the SS bolt kit for the timing cover and water pump. PM him

Gbody has some coolant pipes that eliminate the throttle body heater, which you don't need, or want. I would get rid of the EGR and have that port welded up while your at it.

I will check that out! Thanks

I got the intake tore down yesterday and since I have a Champion intake the EGR is already eliminated. This intake is a nice piece!

Tap the back of the intake and run your vacuum lines there instead. That will clean up some of the bird nest. Also run sensor wires underneath the intake.
