Getting only 10lbs boost

Hello All -

I have mostly stock 87 GN and i'm only getting 10lbs boost at WOT, everything I read says it should be around 15lbs. Is this correct? Everything looks good on TurboLink.

I'm having the same issue.....stock motor, only 10psi at wot, but I have a 93 octane chip...is your chip oem? Maybe mine is b/c the chip?

Most likely the WG solenoid is bad. If you pop the vacuum hose off it and go for a ride (carefully!) roll into it. Boost will be uncontroled and will go to 20+ psi so be CAREFUL!! If you do get high boost with the vacuum hose off the solenoid, then I'd suspect the solenoid is stuck shut. Assuming you've checked it electrically (has power at key on)

I have a stock chip and I have not checked the power to the WG. For some odd reason, I thought they were just controled off of vacuum. So, I will disconnect the vacuum line and see how it reacts, I will let you know what happens.

I had the EXACT same problem last month. Only 10 PSI of boost. Mine was a bad wastegate solenoid. Bought a new one and fixed the problem. Kirban and Poston sell them. In the Poston catalog, its part #: M31997157 for $28.50 also buy the filter for $1.00 to keep the crap out of the unit. Part # M4801528. Most cars I've seen are missing this filter, just a piece of gray foam that goes over the open port. I bet dust/dirt gets in and plugs up the unit and then they eventually fail.
