First of all nothing against Bob, but lately I have had nothing but issues with the products from the TR6 installation on a hot air car working correctly with having to rely on others to help me fix what is a code 18 that I cannot get a solid answer from anyone how to rid the code, including Bob. Now tonight I am trying to install a transducer to the i/o block. Instructions on the board are to hook directly to the i/o block, yet I have no 5V on my block.....wtf... THis block does not have the same connections as I have seen on the instructions as well as on support forums. Has something changed? Can anyone help please?

looks like port #6 is incorrectly screened with a grnd symbol , that should be +5v and you can use a volt meter to check it

There is no 5V supply there anymore. This is a recent change. People kept thinking they had to connect 5v to it and burning things up.

Get your 5V from pin C14 at the ECM (grey wire), or tap into it under the hood, which is the grey wire supplying the TPS sensor.

Appreciated! Where is this change explained? I have searched with no avail. If I wasn't paying attention I would have burned up something.

BTW, you happen to know how to wire a TR6 into a hot air car and not get a code 18 because of the resistor wire in the 84 harness? Some say to put a hot wire by caspers in that will take care of the issue, some say i need to eliminate the resistor wire completely.

This was a recent change and the instructions haven't been updated yet. But you would not have damaged anything.

On the module, do you already have the 84/85 to 86/87 adapter wiring? Also, you either need to bypass the resistor wiring, or use the Caspers hotwire. either way should work.

Here it explains the wiring and hotwire: http://www.installationinstructions.com/102084.pdf

Thanks Eric, I have had the power logger for over 6 months now, so I must have had a prototype. As for the caspers wiring harness....you echoed what others have been saying so I will be taking this route. I hope that he sees this feedback and makes addendums to his owners manuals for the TR6 and PL. Would have saved me some time.

Hot wire to the coil has rid the code 18, and for others that may experience this issue...make reference.

Thanks Brent...LOL!! I did mention you sort of......above. What got me was emailing with John and he said hot wire would not work, that I had to replace that resistor. Well now we know!!!
