Hey fellows,

I'm in Desperate need of help, my ex passed away a few months ago, I have a 6yr old boy, who only remembers his dad because of how devoted he was to his car....
I'm trying to find a gn for sale, I can't afford much, he's only 6 so there's a lot of time for building it. the way he wants it. But I need to know what I'm looking for, I have the basics down, 86, 87 V6, the question is how do I know it's not a buddy car and it's actually the real deal?

If ya give me some pointers;) that would be very helpful.

Thanx!

gnttype.org has a section that will tell how to shop for the best deals, and what to look for.

Don't buy a beater for 8k spend the money and get a good one for 15k or more. It's expensive enough to build one of these cars don't throw your money at a restoration project.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I would start with getting him some models to put together. and see how much he likes them. You can get models of these cars. You can even get dicast cars.He would have a blast with them. The real cars can break you . I am doing a frame off restoration on an 87 limited and i will have over $30,000 in mine and i am doing most of the labor myself. you can just buy a regular regal if you want and save a ton of money. best of wishes to you and your son.

What car was your husband devoted to? If you can't afford to buy a car just to let it sit for 10 years (which is a long time!) then take that money and invest it. He'll need it when he's ready to drive. For now, buy him a model to put together. There are some simple ones for beginers. Take him to car shows and cruises. He may well find a diffferent car that he likes not care for the GN at all.
