Does anybody know the GM part no for the complete powermaster assy (brand new) for '86-'87 TR'S. This would include the ball and the switch.
Are they still available at the dealers?

dont think you can buy the whole kit anymore, but if you can youll pay dearly.best bet is either go vacuum or get aftermarket from autozone. think they give a lifetime warranty too.:D

If you go with a reman PM unit get a Cardone unit. I know someone who just went thru 4 Autozone ones and all had one problem or another. He got his money back and went vacuum.

HTH,

Ron

none now at AutoZone

AutoZone does not have any in stock and isn't sure if and when they'll be back in stock. This may be the end of the line with that as an attractive resource. PN 52-9702. Also the slant resorvoir PM unit at AZ (PN 52-9700) is also out of stock. It was a more attractive price as the resorvoirs could be easily changed out. Advance has them but at an astromical cost. O-Reilly's may be a resource? I sense we all may have to convert to vacuum one day when all our PM's die.

I really appreciate everybody's help here, but I am actually looking for GM'S part no. of the complete assy, as sold at one time, or maybe still currently by the dealers. I actually want to know what they sell for currently at the dealers, if still available, or what they last sold for when available from the dealers. Are they still available from GMPartsDirect?

Try these numbers:
GM-18030823
Delco-18M581

Some dealers may still be stocking under the old GM part number 18018237.

BTW-MSRP is $1153.52!

GM PART # 18030823
CATEGORY: Brake Master Cylinder
PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $1,153.52
OUR PRICE: $576.76
DESCRIPTION: CYLINDER

didnt check the ship , you will need some KY :D

also dont be surprised to find that for that money it may even be a reman

if you need a reman and cant wait for AZ to get some stock they are on ebay at around 350 and no core. thats whats in mine for the past year.

Ok, thanks, everybody.
Now I know a little more about the situation. I, also would worry that the unit from GM Parts Direct could be a re-manufactured unit. That is pretty cheap for a brand new unit. Kirban used to sell brand new units for $ 789.95, but he doesn't advertise them anymore on his website, which means that they are gone.
That price from GM Parts Direct is a little too cheap, even with shipping. H'mm. I do not need one, but I would like to pick up a spare before they are gone. The way Buick designs and manufactures cars, a man just can't have too many powermasters.

gmparts direct will sell you whatever gm has for that part #, nothing shady going on over there at gmpartsdirect , but like i said it may be a reman , even if you order it from your local dealer pay the list of 1153.00.

gm sold the tooling for the pumps years ago and one of the board members has it and was selling new pumps . havent heard about them in a while

Yeah, that's him. At least that is who I bought mine from. Works great. I bought a spare, but I want to stock up on a few more parts, just so that when they are gone, I can still have my electric brakes.

That is not a reman. It may not be an original looking Delco unit either.

And the partsdirect price is right. The reason for the difference is gmpd.com is your average mail order outfit. They sell at GM dealer cost and take their profits from jacking up the shipping and a little(8%) from stock order and advertising allowances from GM.

About 6-7 years ago GM/Delco came out with a budget line of brake parts marketed under the name Dura-Stop. They use parts sourced from all over the world to keep the costs down. A lot of the stuff is manufactured by Raybestos and Bendix. This PM is one of those parts. I wish someone would order one from me so I can check it out to see how it compares to an OEM PM.

Hey, you guys rock.
Thanks for all of the info.
I bought Kirban's last remaining in stock brand spanking new in the box powermaster. I will keep it for a spare. Thanks again everybody.
