GM is still sticking to the 16th for release date on the 8506 accumulators. (as of 3:45 pm today) we'll check again Monday.....

aight, take it from me. a former GM Parts Manager. gm ships their parts daily. 90% of all parts ordered will be to the ordering dealer by the next morning. very rarely have i seen a part take more than 7 to 10 days to come in. if the part is on backorder you can provide them your vin# and they can open a SPAC case. Special Parts Assistance Case. once that case is open they can pick it up from another dealer at no extra cost to them if the part is still available. if you haven't received it by now you may be able to use this to light the proverbial fire under their asses. right now i manage a nissan dealership and internet is my biggest customer at this point. on 90% percent of our orders we fill them within 5 to 7 days.while it is true that we do charge a little more than standard shipping, we do have guys to pay for packaging and shipping. and since our margins are so low on parts it is a necessity. you are definitely much better off to place a sizable order anytime you deal with web-based sales. if any one drives a Nissan check out our site at www.buynissanparts.com

i should also add that in the case the part is actually has no stock available it is still wise to get that spac case opened if you definitely want to go oem. when they are released they will be shipped on a first come first serve basis.

The brake fluid MUST be changed twice a year no matter how many miles the car is driven. The dirty fluid eats away at the accum. bowl, the brake switch and the internal o rings and then you start having problems. Look at any Turbo Regal, including mint GNX's and the fluid is BLACK!!! Change that brake fluid and they will work for years.

Well my original only lasted 12 years and 200,000 miles Before I replaced it. Now at about 20 years and almost 300,000, it looks like I will have to do some work again - maybe I should have changed the fluid.

AIN"T NO WAY I'M GOING TO VACUUM!
Powermaster work to good. My car sat for almost one year. When I got in it the PM still had power assist - Battery disconnected so it was not pumped up by accident. Them Vacuum boosters go bad too and they are big and ugly under the hood

So, here's what the GM computer had to say: "no stock is available at the source." In other words they still don't have any as of right now. (5:00 pm today) 44 bucks shipped is not a bad deal: dead cost to the dealer is 36.07. I'll keep checking and keep everybody up to date best I can.......

FWIW & IMHO:
Why GM, or any of their suppliers, or any manufacturer or supplier would make a part that sells for $50, when they can make a similiar part that can sell for $ 150, is beyond me. We may never see the old ones again.

You guys have your numbers mixed up. Here is what I can tell as of 5:30 PM EST 1-19-05.
Part number 18038506-the old cheap style that Kirban stocked up on is discontinued from GM and Delco. You can try and put a SPAC case on it but there are none to be shipped from anywhere. I know I tried when I read this thread.
Part number 18038507-the new expensive style with the yellow silkscreen is now back in stock at Delco(maybe Raybestos?) and is being shipped. It was on back order at the begining of the year.

Why don't you try Autozone. I got the whole assy (Master cylender, accumulator, pump, and switch) for about $100 plus core. Lifetime warranty and it's been working perfect for over a year now.
