anything special need to be done first?
what type\kind of paint?

Last time I checked - many of the vendors had them. Be prepared for sticker shock. Kirban has different designs. BFH - Kevin has some different designs.

gmpartsdirect has them for $13 each. I just ordered a pair. Someone stole them off my GN while parked in Hoboken for an hour.
