GN console part

Hello fello GN'ers. I need a part.
per the attached picture, I need the lower half (black part) of a GN console. The black part is screwed to the upper half and they do separate.
I'm doing a partial restoration of my 86, and need a nice piece.
And of course since I'm retired and on S.S., I'm a cheap b&*^*&d.

Same thing happened to me when my drive shaft blew. Bent the floor pan and shattered the console.
I was able to JB weld it as a repair (and mine broke in a few pieces.) I just used painters tape to secure the outside and jb'ed the inside.Next to impossible to notice unless you got right up on top of it. I suggest the 5 minute weld.
That is all considering you have that missing piece......

Thanks. Not so sure what I can do with a whole console, unless it was in exceptionally like new condition. But if it were, I couldn't afford it anyway.

That's easy.
You can definitely sell the top third - the part with the faux upholstery.
The middle third is cool for folk who might want to go black like in the 86 models.

I've bought many in 1/3 - 1/3 - 1/3
No problem finding someone who is looking for 1/3 of a console

OR - Keep the upper 2/3
Who doesn't want a nice upper 1/3 - just in case
And the middle 1/3 is the part that gets broken when someone opens the console lid too far.
Always good to have that in the attic!

TTA owner in all likelihood isn't going to be getting $399 for a console like you'll pay from Mario for a recon one.
You didn't say what your budget was - but 200 - 399 is the going rate for a good to great console.
Or -buy a "non-grey" one off of CrazyList - and a can of paint in Med Dark Gray from Bweavy and you're all set!
But - you'd be much better to take James up on his offer - he has good stuff for really fair prices. The shipping on a console will be a little pop though.
I am always amazed when folks are looking for hard to find parts - James says he has it - then they still post.
= No money?

So - even if the top 1/3 is not pristine - so...
Take off the lower 1/3 - paint - viola'!
If $200 bucks is too much - you might be in the wrong game kid. (Kidding - but ya know!
Next problem?

My grandfather is 84 and I believe he still works.hes is FL and we don't talk regularly or I would know for sure

It can - easily.
Foam wrap on the console - then bubble wrap and packing. Bought many the same way. Showed up just fine. Long-ish box that is all. James will take care of you.

Sounds about right. It's light-ish. and doesn't exceed any UPS box dimensions. It's smaller than you think.

Your carpet looks brand new!
But you need to wipe a Plastic Protectant impregnated rag across those seat track covers!

Oddly enough the carpet is original and needs replacing. It's not bad, but I'm going for a nicely restored interior. Ya, the HD cameras pick up every bit of dust, etc.
