Bought all the front suspension parts from a 87 Gn from a boneyard. As far as I know the front springs are correct for a GN. I think they were taken out at some point because the rubber cusions were taped to the end of the springs. Maybe something had been replaced. but I don't know if the last ownere might have taken out the GN springs and replaced them with regular Regal springs before he junked the car. These springs have the following cast into the end of the coil: IB3. Anyone know if the correct springs have a particular ID # on the spring itself? There were no paper tags on them.

Left:

RPO 6YX
P/N 14080054
Tag DYX

Right:

RPO 7YW
P/N 14080053
Tag DYW

The right spring is clearly stamped B19 on the face of the coil, near the end. The left is stamped B, but the remainder of the stamping, if any, illegible. There are no stampings on the ends of either spring.

A spring is made from wire, and is not a casting. Thus, in no case would a number be "cast in".

Another way to ID the springs (at least ballpark) may be from the wire diameter, number of coils, and free height???

Good luck!!!
