Anybody use this company for your GN interior or maybe JAX. Any pictures? NOT interested in Gbodys interior products.

i used the jax leather kit. i'm pretty happy with it. i did send them my headrest because i couldn't get them on. but i did the rest, no one has found any flaws, not even me.

BTW. if you get the seat heaters, don't forget to install them. it was a real pita doing the front seats twice.

here is he deal...pui is parts unlimited in kentucky....well known for making interiors.
however, and most owners will agree that have bought their material, is, it will not match up to any original material in your car....I am not saying anything is wrong with it, but it will be darker than say your back panels seats whatever....so, whatever you decide to do to be 100% happy with probably any source is you need to buy everything from the same outfit to be 100% sure everything is a dead on match.....

Its just like getting a headliner redone....you better get the visors done at the same time as chances are they will not match....

the problem with PUI also is the method they use for the stitching or whatever you call it is a different process than GM used and is not 100% dead on the same. What gives you the pleats or ribbed look.

Again not saying anything is wrong with it as I know that phallex material is a tough thing to match along with hitting on everything else to make it 100%.

I am not familar with any other sources and PUI may be supplying whoever else you are considering. Just my thoughts and on what I have seen.

I know a little about these cars......even owned a few...

First Dennis let me inform you that Steve Sale had double by-pass last week. He's holding his own with a diffulcult recovery. I know you and Steve always got along.
PUI told me that the grey on there GN material is slightly darker than original, maybe 5% darker. As they accept returns I am inclined to purchase one seat cover or a door panel to check quality and color. It doesn't have to be perfect but I want it close. I'm checking with JAX later today.

I purchased an entire interior upholstery set-up (F&R seat upholstery, Door uppers, rear side panels) from Gbodyparts and they are marked PUI. The color is noticably darker than the stuff in my car now- But you have to take into concideration that it has been exposed to 23 years of UV.

While it may be a bit darker that factory (I'm a newbie and I'm taking your word for it), It seems to be of very good quality and installing it will make for a nice winter project.

as for my comments on PUI it is noticeable darker than your existing original material which may or may not be a factor.

I bought a complete gn interior from Jax- very happy with the color and fabric and would use them again.

Gary: How I contact PUI directly? Thanks[/QUOTE

PUI Interiors PUI doesn't sell directly to the public. I contacted one of their distributors and will pm you that ph. number.

Also I contacted JAX and they are sending me sample materials. They have a picture of their econo interior which sounds like PUI's interior. I'm referring to the darker gray. You may want to look at their site. Here it is Jax Seat Cover

Gary

Picked up front and rear upholstery from G-Body parts recently and it is marked PUI.
I'm happy with it

Here are some JAX seat covers...although the middle of the bottom cushion appears to have a greenish tint they don't look like that in person...the upper portion of the seat looks OK...not sure why the camera did that...

Pretty much what Dennis has stated. Nobody sells a dead nuts on match. It would be great if I could set The Way Back Machine to 1985 and buy all the material I could find. IMO buy an entire interior kit as you'll never be satisfied with the match or what ever advice is given to you. If I'm not mistaken there is only one mill in the entire world kicking out gray Pallex material so if you think PUI has a green tint(which I disagree as I have those covers in my GN) than pretty much everybody has a green tint.

As far as samples goes. Take into consideration the samples you'll be recieving, most likely will be off too unless they can guarantee the sample is from the same roll they will use to make your covers and trim.

Let's face it. While I'm just as much a purist as most of you it's damn near impossible to get a 100% match on any interior restoration. Riddle me this? Do you really think anybody but yourself is really going to know that your interior is 5% darker and has the wrong stitching? 22 years is a tad too late to make a Concours Correct Turbo Regal. Take a hint from the no-miles GNX and GN owners. Your car was regulated to a below perfect level the day you started driving it on the street. :(

I bought a complete set from PUI a few years back. Looks pretty much dead on. Someone said it was a better match back then and has since changed. I think a lot of sun fade over the years makes it look darker then what was in the car. I have a huge roll of the original pallex material date marked 87. Next time I have the camera out I'll try to take some pics of the PUI seats against the roll of pallex I have. The material I have has never been in the sun and stored in a climate control environment since 1987.

when pui made the 84 seat covers i got the 2nd set they made gbody got the 1st. the covers were great and fit perfectly only bad thing is they use som really thin foam so i used the factory foam that was on the old covers.

this winter i might do the rear seat. got my covers from mikes monty's $575 for the front seats.

I have a gn pui interior and it is way different than original. I didnt install it but thought about having the grey palex material replaced with the right stuff. I also bought a roll of original material .This stuff is 99% close and has a date code of 87. The material is still available but pricey!!! I have seen a pui interior installed and it stands out. Jax`s material is a few shades off .

22 years is a tad too late for a concours resto? Wow, I guess cars from the 40's, 50's 60's, 70's are really screwed. I'm glad nobody takes those to shows.

Well since miine is an 82 with the Lear seats does anyone know where I can get a reupolstry (sp) kit for it?
