what happen to all the GN n turbo buicks??? i attended the Goodguys Car show 2day didnt see a single turbo buick, i was kinda heart broken, i would have taken mine but its out of commission, but next year ill be ready to show my T-Type n what she can do on the autocross track :D
cruising for a cure is coming up in september hope every turbo buick in SoCal will show up :)

Isn't the goodguys show strickly for older cars? Like '73 or something? I always thought it was odd that their magazines would show newer cars:confused:

It is my observation that attendance, all 3, vehicles entered in the show, vendors / sellers, and spectators have been down in general since about 9/11/01. Reason for this is not 9/11/0q1 directly, but the economy, rising fuel costs, rising show entry costs for both spectators & entries. A lot of shows that were '71 and earlier only have opened up their gates to all american cars & / or all cars of special interest, albeit maybe too late to save the day. The GoodGuys show at Costa Mesa was open to all American cars & their flyer was made out that way. HTh & IMHO. I expect a lot more of this but probably too late to save the car show genre. Also IMHO.

Here in CT quite a few shows have cutoff dates. Pretty funny seeing lots of empty spaces at these shows that could have been filled with "modern" cars. Ironic that at lot of the shows are for charity, why shoot yourself in the foot when you can fill spaces with admission paying entrants to help the cause? Excuses I get is that "we need to save the space for the early cars". First come first serve I always say.

Goodguys shows around here have a 72 cutoff last I looked.

I'm of the opinion that its backlash on the show queen scene in general.

People these days are more interested in cars that are actually driven and functional. Thus the rise in popularity of the pro-touring scene and the boom in the aftermarket of parts manufacturers that are selling into it.

i think they should open up their doors to more modern cars that way people can see new and old and can appreciate all great American muscle, i wish turbo buick people would show their face more at shows
