GN Valve covers

I have a '87 GN. Like many of you, I replaced the hose from the passenger side valve cover to the turbo bell with a K&N filter. I'm now looking at buying some replacement valve covers. They look exactly like my stock covers but do not have the opening in the front of the passenger side cover for a breather. I don't know what these covers came off of. Can some of you smart guys tell me if there's any problem in not having a breather in the passenger side valve cover?

These things build a lot of crankcase pressure, I'd want an outlet.
I'm actually waiting for my buddy to install his aftermarket valve covers, I want his drivers for my passenger side with a full size breather instead of that little one behind the turbo.

I'm told that its not a good idea to put 2 drivers side covers on as there is a baffle chanels for the vents. I wanted to do the same thing as I like the idea of the symetry and havinbg the vent at the top but was talked out of it by someon who knows a lot more than I do.

Hoping for some more input. These valve covers I'm looking at really look great but i don't want to create a problem. If you have any knowledge, please help me out.

got pics? Sounds like a hot air pass side VC, they did not have a breather. Most guys choose to run a breather on both, but it depends on your blowby and PCV setup if you really NEED to have dual breathers. Why are you wanting to get rid of the orig pass side breather/VC?

The only way that I would ever consider running 2 breathers, 1 on the top of each valve cover, would be if they were at the same location on the valve cover. I think that it will look strange with 1 breather in the front and 1 in the rear. But that's just me. Those breathers stick up too high to be all that great looking anyhow. There again, just me. I can live with the small one behind the turbo, and maybe the taller one on driver side.

Got a lot of interesting input but still looking for a hard answer on wether or not it's OK to use a passenger valve cover without the breather on a 87GN.

Please help me if you can.

If you have a breather on the drivers side you should be OK. The pcv needs to get air somewhere. Originally drivers had a cap and pass had breather to turbo inlet, if you seal the pass side you must vent the drivers side.
