your MPH might be down due to spinning on those street tires. i don't know anyone who gets a good 60foot or MPH...or anything on street tires for that matter. a good hook will launch u nicely and get you some respectable MPH numbers. what convertor are u running? later...

I still have stock conv., nothing has been done to the trans. except a shift kit. Not sure what kind either.

I'm looking at getting some sicks in the near future. Anybody got any ideas on what size I should run. 26 X 9 M/T's???? Right now I'm working on a strecthed intercooler though.

you're looking to get sick ? ! i knew i was crazy over TR's but getting sick is not a good thing. :D really, i use the 26x10x15's on my car. they looooook good and run good. 26x9 should work too....i was reading some stuff in HOTROD about G's when launching and the dude goes on to say that u really don't need a wide tire. read it...hope this helps.
 
Fuel psi thoughts

Do you have an accurate gauge? Had same prob w/ET's&MPH down,checked fuel psi w/good gauge and had 50lb static! Try dropping to stk (40)and work up. I think 42-44 is optimal for most Turbo Buicks. W/your bolt-ons your mph should be higher,I have gotten 82-83 w/stk chip(30deg air,@22psi). My car still has stk d/pipe. As for the LS-1 cars,I've seen a WS-6 run 8-30's on motor w/nitto DR-auto w/Hypertech pwr prg/also saw a 2000 vette run 9.40's all stk w/4 diff drivers. Really pissed him off w/wifes 95 Z28 w/2.73 gears,shift kit and K&N and ran 9.30@77mph! If his LS1 only runs low 8's on 150 horse NOS it's weak. Invest $$'s in a scan tool and use o'2 volts & knock retard to tune-these will tell if you need to add or take away fuel/lower boost etc. Hope my input helps!
 
fuel pressure

I already have a scanmaster 2, and my o2's are anywhere from 804 to a high of 817 having 0-2.9 of knock. I pulled 19 creeping 20lb of boost the other night with 0 knock with 48lb static fuel press. I've tried going down with fuel pressure but started getting knock so went back up. Do I need to back off the boost some (around 17) and try it there. I'm still running stock intercooler so I might be hurting myself by trying to push to much air through?? (hot air) I'm currently in the process of extending my intercooler, it's off as we speak. I'm new at this and need to learn alot, thanks for all the imput...:)
 
Tuning thoughts

Is your chip a 93 octane chip? Have you tried using octane booster? 104+ super works well w/chip that has stock timing. With my stock chip I ran 8.40's w/20lb,M&H tires,stk stall-on 93 pump gas w/1 bottle of 104 in the black bottle. This was back in 1993. With a Red Armstrong 93 chip,race gas,19lbs,goodyear 225-60-15 radials,2.1 60ft it went 8.30. I used an old OTC 2000 borrowed from a friend w/a shop. I cant run but about 15lb or so w/93 chip w/octane boost. With 9lb and RA chip I could pull my buds 94 Z28 3 links on the street(it ran 8.81). Try adding some octane and see how your knock does,if it lowers considerably that is the prob. Then you can lower your fuel psi. Stock is 40psi idling w/vac. line removed and plugged. I run mine @ 43. What is your fuel psi during a run? At 20lbs boost you should have 67lb fuel if static psi is 47lb! For some homemade oct boost check this link out www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octanebooster.html It has several different "mixes"to use. What type plugs do you use? I run AC R43TS gapped @ .032-.035(can't remember for sure)Pull them and clean them about 2times a month. Do you know how to drain your tank? If not,they have good desc. here or gnttype.org. That way you can pump the tank out(1-2 gal left)and add 5-10gal race gas at the track-then pump race gas back out-pump gas back and drive home.
