ok guys its been awhile so I thought I would post my dumb question of the month.

Everyone always tells me that the other turbo regals are lighter then the GN

heres my question

what is the differences in their engines or other parts that the GN is faster
cause I figured if they have the same engine shouldnt the lighter cars be moving faster??

Exact same drive trains. The GN is just an option for the turbo regal (black paint/emblems/interior). The only things that really make the turbo t's lighter is that you could order them with fewer options therefore less weight. The GN's came with a bunch of stuff standard as part of the GN option code. So theoretically you could get a turbo-t with roll up windows, manual locks, etc. whereas that stuff was part of the GN stuff... Kind of like the explorer versus the eddie bower edition explorer....

P.S. I'm probably WAY out to lunch on this reply, but this is what has been explained to me a bunch of times and I've told others as well... So it may be an urban legend that I helped to propogate.

Turbo T or T Type are faster because they aren't BLACK....;)

GNs are faster because they are BLACK....:D

Take you pick, heck I have two Black GNs and one Silver Turbo T and they are all quick. Just one quicker than the others. ;)

Gary

I believe the wheels and bumper brackets were lighter on the non-GNs. I could be wrong though.

Look Quick, this is true. T-type wheels are aluminum and GN wheels are steel. There is a pretty decent weight difference.
