What is the major difference in the early 8 bolt Gn1 heads and the present 14 bolt Champion race heads? Port angle, different shape?

What is the major difference in the early 8 bolt Gn1 heads and the present 14 bolt Champion race heads? Port angle, different shape?

The 14 bolt heads arent race heads till they have been ported and run with supporting components. The late 8 and 14 bolt heads are very similar in the port areas before porting.
