Any problems with these Alum heads cracking on a 109 block. Either the 8 or 14 bolts heads. We are talking on a mid to low 10 second Buick.

I know the ported irons could do these times with more boost than Alum. My concern is reliablity.;)

I've used the 8 bolt GN1's for a few years now. So far no problem with cracking but lots of head gasket problems.

Probably my fault blowing gaskets since I have this weird attitude that if one turn on the boost regulator makes "x" amount of extra horsepower, 10 turns will be "10x" horsepower. :D

I have had mine on the car for about 8 months now with no probems.Mine are unported and with a new 206/206 billet roller put 521hp to the ground at 24 psi and a 12.0a/r.

No problems

I have Campion GN-1's on my stock block and have seen as much as 44lb of boost (spikes) on them and no cracking problems at all. I run consistantly 28 plus lbs of boost on them.. Many of the cracking issues are more likely tunning issues than faulty heads. You can destroy anything if you detonate it hard enough.. Buy them run them if you know how to tune you'll probably never hurt them.. Just my thoughts.. Dave

Useing aluminum GN1s on stock block with original GM gaskets been on the car for a year now with no problems.:) Id recom these heads.Like its been said before just make sure you properly tune the car before cranking the boost.

Hey Buicktr I dont want to hijack you thread but i got a question on this subject. How many of you guys running with gn1's use your vehicle as a dailey driver?

Gilbert,

Going to GN1(s) now soooooooo:cool: Raul Lopez runs a set of full race port GN1(s) on his 4.1 block. He and his car will be in Temple - you can see them in action. Tim put those heads on the car about two years ago - haven't had a problem. Raul drives his car on the street a lot / doesn't run a lot of boost at the track - doesn't have to;)

Hope to see you in Temple

Not yet. I'm going to see what my Champion irons will do with the FAST setup. If they get me to the mid 10 zone I'll be happy for a little while.:D Good Luck at Temple!!
