Has anyone ever seen one of these? It appears to be a switch that opens a circut once the car is in motion and air is forced into the grill.

You have the answer right there in the second and third pictures...It was a kit sold by Applied Technologies which stopped the fan via the grille-mounted "paddle switch" at speeds over 35 mph (not 100% sure) approximately. I know because I used to have one like that...worked good, but now kinda "old school". Oh yeah...it has nothing to do with a GNX, meaning that it's not a GNX-specific part. ATR sold the kit to be installed on any turbo-Buick...

hope this clears it up a bit...

Claude. :)

It's currently on a GNX. This will be removed and stuck on a shelf. Thanks guys. I knew some body would know what this was.

Got one on my GN and it still works like a charm. Old school for sure but haven't found a good enough reason to shelve it yet...
