Did the 87 GN come stock with a similiar brace to the GNX rear seat brace?.....or did the guy who owned this before me put one in?

The first part of that is the actual question, I'll attempt to answer the second.

They dont come with them to the best of my knowledge

GN's did not come with the extra bracing GNX's and Grand Prix's mostly i have seen a monte carlo with it also not even a SS! I got mine from a GP and i always see them in the bone yard!

I guess the guy who owned it before me put it in, one less thing on the shopping list.

Thanks.

Yes a needed item and I like the look of the factory type brace VS the tube style!

The Tin Man X brace is a nice piece...

Bryan

X10 on TinMan's.
I've removed them from boneyard GP's - but they pretty much need to be spot welded back in.
Which is a whole other issue.
And I'm not sure I even like the way it looks welded back in vs TinMan's.
And it's not an easy task to remove them with only an 18V cordless and a spot weld cutter - or even a 4" wheel.
For the time and trouble - I've given up on removing boneyard GP/GNX braces and opted to part with cash for TinMan's.

The GP's had all the good bracing.
GNX brace; Jounce bars, Fender braces, and the front frame brace.
Ahead of their time.
Not including the dash with decent gauges.
Too bad.
RIP - Pontiac.

Assembling my own shopping list and need to know: who is Tin Man and from where can I purchase his X Brace?

Thanx...

I just use a sawzall and cut out extra take it home and drill the spot welds but it is some work however i paid like $26 for it. Its about a wash in the end with either piece time vs money i just prefer the factory look.

What years did the gp have the braces? Any particular models?
