Last week here in Chicago the weather has been unseasonably mild and while I was working in the area of North and Cicero, I spotted what at first appeared to be a GN about a block ahead of me. I zipped around a few cars and finally caught up to the car as it pulled into a Home Depot at Armitage and Cicero. I then see the GNX badging and realize it is most likely not a clone after spotting the pan hard set up to the rear. The car was driven by a Lady maybe in her mid 40s but heres where the story gets scarry. She pulled into a parking spot locked the door and started to walk away to go shopping. No alarm, not to mention the likelyhood that some stroke might run one of those big carts right into the door! You know its Murphy's Law. So I take the oppurtunity to completely abuse the Police powers given to me and engage the driver in conversation. She tells me the car is an "87" and it was her late Husbands. I countered with I know exactly what this car is! She goes on to say he had a few more cars including a T/Type and a 70 GS! Shes only driving the car because she does not want them to go to waste and then informed me that none of the cars were for sale, but offered to let me drive the GNX. Obviously I declined cuz I know I would end up on the front page of the Chicago Tribune--"Chicago Cop Joy Rides in Rare Muscle Car". Anyway back to the abuse of power issue...After looking over the car and seeing it was car #424(if I remember correctly) I told the Lady that I will be right here while she shops (for light bulbs) to ensure her car is still here when she returns. I have to say the car was really nice I especially like the fact that shes driving the car and not letting it rot away in a garage somewhere. Do u think shooting someone who damaged the car would be a good shoot?
