Ok. I am stuck in a predicament on what I should do. Here is the scenario:

I purchased a "GREAT" set of wheels repainted like new from an 89 TA. Cost $650

I now have discovered because I did not do my homework ahead of time that I will need to purchase "spacers/adapters" in order to make the wheels fit. Cost $150 +/-

I will then have to purchase a set of wheel caps. Cost $60 +/-

I will then have to pay a shop to mount/balance all 4 tires from my old set onto the new set. Cost $100 +/-

I will then have to purchase a set of GNX fender flares.
Cost $200 +/-

Pro's - If all goes well (big IF) it will look awesome like a GNX.

Con's - total price $1200+ if I use my existing tires, $1800+ if I purchase new tires.

Fender flares might be hard to get fit and have to sand them.

Wheel adapters have been known to cause shaking and shimmies.

All this said.......... $1200-$1800 plus is a lot of money for these wheels, adding the trouble that I could have with fender flares and wheel adapters.

What should I do? The only costs I have spent have been for the wheels.

cost alot of money to be unique, if cost is an issue then sell those wheels and buy aftermarket rims and tires IMO

At that cost I would go 17" min or 18" IMO

I had same thoughts except I stopped midway because of cost issue

Alan

and I usually go all the way and for 2k there is so much out there

you do not need flares. so save that money.

And yes you should have gotten 4 fronts instead of 2/2 :( lesson learned.

I hvae wasted enough cash on my car to buy a new C-6 at his point. :D Passed the point of no return now ;)

I was thinking of 17" min or 18" IMO, but this is a stock, show GN. And if I am going to diffrent wheels I want to do the GNX ones, so in that respect I wouldn't do it unless I had the flares.....so with $650 invested I just might sell them and not go further into it.

I was also told that even if I got 2 more fronts, that I would still need spacers. True?

Thanks for the advice guys I appreciate it.

Install b-body 12" front brakes (yes, you must buy tubular upper a-arms but you end up with great brakes and can install GTA fronts on rear and GTA rears on front! No spacers.
