Ok. I am stuck in a predicament on what I should do. Here is the scenario:
I purchased a "GREAT" set of wheels repainted like new from an 89 TA. Cost $650
I now have discovered because I did not do my homework ahead of time that I will need to purchase "spacers/adapters" in order to make the wheels fit. Cost $150 +/-
I will then have to purchase a set of wheel caps. Cost $60 +/-
I will then have to pay a shop to mount/balance all 4 tires from my old set onto the new set. Cost $100 +/-
I will then have to purchase a set of GNX fender flares.
Cost $200 +/-
Pro's - If all goes well (big IF) it will look awesome like a GNX.
Con's - total price $1200+ if I use my existing tires, $1800+ if I purchase new tires.
Fender flares might be hard to get fit and have to sand them.
Wheel adapters have been known to cause shaking and shimmies.
All this said.......... $1200-$1800 plus is a lot of money for these wheels, adding the trouble that I could have with fender flares and wheel adapters.
What should I do? The only costs I have spent have been for the wheels.
