Ok here is another one I can not find on the baord

I put a Poston 145 Speedo in the car last week, what it has is an overlay that covers the stock 85 speedo and a reducer that goes on the speedo cable to slow down the dash speedo.

Now dose this F*ck with the computer???

If so I need to remove it asap and could be why I am having other problems??

HELP PLEASE I am starting to get very very frustarted

Thanks

yes it does mess up the VSS and the ecm thinks you are travelling at half the speed , your shifts wont change but your lockup will if you have a lockup converter ,

plenty of threads on the reduction adapter ,its better not to use it , search

you could get an aftermarket vss (like the VDO) and install it inline on the fender and splice it into the OE VSS buffer , then attach the reducer after the VDO VSS so the speedo reads correct.

or you could have gone to kirbans and had your speedo modified correctly (internally) and you wont need the reduction adapter,

Any good ideas on how to remove the over lay???
I am taking this off and am very unimpressed with any of postons products at this point in time.
All very shotty designs, if they know this causes a problem then why sell it!!!

It won't cause your low O2 issue.

The speed being off can be dealt with in the chip. Check your scantool and see how far off it is.

Scan master was reading 23 @ 45 on the speedo but I took the thing out and it runs a ton better so I am removing the over lay and will maybe put it back at some point Dont really like the idea of having to have chips burned and then remember it everytime. I am sure I will forget at some point or even could be a problem if I sold the car at somepoint. Ill get the kirban deal done.

Years ago I had one from Bowling Green Customs and I remeber having to take the speedo apart change some gears in it and put it back. It was a fun deal and worked awsome and I dont think it had any ill effects on the car.

GOD I MISS BGC !!!! They were a great company!!!

Thanks again guys for all your help I would still be lost with out you
