Going intercooled

Had no codes before the intake install and new injectors+chip .....now I have a code 42

Found out the power logger slipped out a little and pushed it in and taped it....no engine codes

Just need a throttle cable linkage detent bracket and then she's ready

I did mine not to long ago, and runs like a bat of hell! 10 lbs of boost, and she flys, on a te-60 turbo 50 lbs inj, 87 intake, 87 fuel rail, 2800 stall, power logger, port and Polish head, your gonna love the sound, and tt chip!

Just wanted to add, it's been a while since I posted and did the conversation from hot air to intercooled, it's the best thing I have done, the throttle response, and the power is like night and day, just wanted to thank the guys for helping me through the process it's well worth it!!!!!

You should not have any problem fabbing up a downpipe 3".. Or you can just buy a ebay set of headers...http://www.redline360.com/dna-headers-buick-grand-national-gnx-HDS-GN86-T2. http://www.2040-parts.com/stainless...7-buick-regal-gn-grand-national-gnx-i1039848/. These are actual 84-85 headers.

Maybe 6 to go may chime in... I use all 86/87 parts when I did mine.

Either the HA IAC or the IC 86/87 IAC will work IF you use the same year housing. There is just enough dimensional difference
to cause it not to work if you mix up the IAC housing. The actual valve will actually assemble into either housing it just won't
work right. This change is the single biggest improvement I have ever made. You can make it even better by straightening
out that bend in the pipe that goes from the turbo down to the IC. A cutting wheel and a chunk of AL pipe and some TIG
welding works wonders here!

I plan to do a hybrid conversion to my HOT air. Only part I bought so far is the 86/7 intake, not sure what else I can reuse from my hot air, can I use my throttle body and throttle cable?

I can solder or braze to fix the :-(stat housing which I believe is a problem with the alternator?

I did not try that. I went to the 86 TB & cable. I had the Thermostat tube TIG welded up to clear the
alternator bracket. I guess a brazed joint would work, it just isn't quite as strong as the welded tube.

The pressure in the cooling system is like 20psi if that so a brazed joint or even soldered should be ok, but I do have a welder lol

Im debating if I should just modify my current headers or buy a passenger side 86/7 manifold.

I'd like to go front mount intercooler as well rather then the 86/7 intercooler.

Any other hicups I should know about? The IAC sensor needs to be 86/7?

I picked up some old Poston headers and used them. I used an 86 IAC sensor,
just never thought about it, so I don't know if it would work or not?
