Going to a non-lockup converter from a lock up?

Hey guys,

I've went from a lock up converter to a non lock. My question is what do I need to do to convert my trans into a non-lockup setup? I don't won't to have to send it way to the builder to have this done if i can do it myself.:redface:

Found the answer!

Well after using some key words I found that I have to use the non-lockup valve. I found it here TCS Products - Details. I would think install is a breeze.

Check prices locally.
You remove the Ball capsule from the end of Input Shaft. Remove TCC Valve under TCC Solenoid & replace with the Non-Lockup Valve.

The Art Carr kit is more complicated, requires tapping a Cup plug hole and installing a Set screw>> http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/transmission/cvt_to_nonlockup.html

The TransGo part number is what I goggled and that website is what saw first. I went ahead and bought that one. I called them and told them what I needed and he said this was it. The other method looks complicated. I'm sure it works though.

Claude, you did not post wrong or incorrect Info. The 2004R & 700R4 use the same Pump design & internal pump parts. The link to the Art Carr valve you posted is made and installed differently but, fits either Trans.
