Im going to look at a 87 Grand national a black guy has close to me that is Hydro locked and it still has the V6 in it with 18k no dents. Im going to try to get cheaper then the 1k he wants for it.

Is a hydra locked motor able to be unlocked?

I dont made my mind up Im going to buy this car and if I have to jerk the motor out of my truck so be it!

Flood victim?

If it is a flood victim it will need to be completely dismantled. All seats and door panels discarded due to mold and other bad stuff they absorbed. additionally all those hidden cubbyholes in the body and frame are filled with gunk and nearly impossible to clean.

Hydro-locked motors can oftentimes have bent rods, or in extreme cases, I've seen them window the blocks. I used to see this on the "ricer" cars when the owners would put on the cold air intakes and drive through deep puddles. It doesn't take a lot of water to do some major damage. But as the others have said....at $1K, I'd be all over it!

Im getting ready to go check it out. Im going to take the motor out and rebuild it or possibly stroke it.

I will be checken to see if it is a flood car.

Im going to be tearing the block down tonight. Im trying to find a local machine shop I can trust to even work on this block since Im going to try to save it!

The car is in very good condition little rust, but nothing I cant handle and got a few other parts he had bought and ended up spending 2k.

Nice! Post some pics when you get a chance. (of the car and parts!) How many acres you got again? You may need to buy out a neighboring farm if you keep buying cars! ;)

I got a little over 4,000 acres here I dont think I could fill it up.
